Rich Rowland published this recipe for No-Bake Cherry Custard Cake in the great newsletter offered at Recipe du Jour; he says he took it from a clipping.  I've taken liberties with it, as I frequently do with many of my clipped recipes.  It's NOT sugar free nor low carb, but it is lower calorie and fat than most, while having protein, calcium and some antioxidants.

Some people find an authentic Key Lime Pie overly-sweet and rich.  I do, although I'll fix one every year or two.  Even Dr. Ray McAllister's great and easy recipe is a little sweeter than I like.  Karen asked us for a recipe for a fluffy one called Mile High Key Lime Pie.

Katie Miller wants a recipe for German Chocolate Cake made in a Tupperware stack cooker.  Here's some ideas.

I have an idea that perhaps what Susan (see forum)  is looking for is a Daffodil Cake.  I've seen recipes for Daffodil cakes that are mostly white, and those aren't the real thing.  Try this one from the Fanny Farmer cookbook.

If the Golden Glory tube cake Susan wants (see forum) is yellow all through with a lemon flavor, try Fanny Farmer's light, sweet and lemony-flavorful Sunshine Cake.  It's also lower in fat that most cake recipes.

Regarding Susan's request for a Golden Glory Tube Cake (see forum), try this recipe from the Settlement Cookbook (1951 edition).  Orange Puff Cake is another recipe that's low on fat, and therefore somewhat lower on calories.

ChefAl of Great World Chefs has responded to Susan's request for a cake her mother used to make.  This is not baked in a tube; it calls for three 8" layers.  A great icing to use would be White Mountain.  But be forewarned;  this cake is not for those on low-fat or low-cholesterol diets!  See Golden Glory Cake.

ChefAl of Great World Chefs. calls our attention to another type of ring cake; he comments "Leave out the berries..."  Sure, ChefAl.  You're kidding, right?  That's one of the most nutritious parts of this not-so-low calorie treat.  Blueberry Ring Cake.  (Note:  if blueberries aren't in season, you can substitute frozen.  Leave frozen until you're ready to mix them in, to avoid a really blue cake.)  PS:  have a cup of tea with it for even more antioxidants and a great taste.
