Veterans aren't a new thing in America, but line stretching across the ages since the very idea of our country was formed.  A long line of our ancestors and those that have gone before us have given us the freedoms we enjoy in this great country; let's not forget past and present veterans, and those troops still defending our liberty, on this November 11th, the day set aside to honor them.

To the American Troops before the Battle of Long Island
by George Washington.

"The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them.

"The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army.  Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of a brave resistance, or the most abject submission.  We have, therefore, to resolve to conquer or to die."
