This war situation is really so depressing, I can't seem to stop watching it. My heart goes out to all those young troops. This little poem came to me as I was thinking about all these families who will not be together to share in the joy of Thanksgiving. I hope all is well with you and yours. Sincerely, Hilda

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is almost here
A very special day each year.
Friends and family gather around
much joy and love to be found.

Sharing all the latest news
different topics, different views
mostly about relatives and friends
the conversation never ends.

Happiness fills the air
felt by all who gather there,
children running all around
laughter and glee and fun abounds.

Soon the aroma of cooking food
puts us all in a hungry mood
Special foods all cooked with love
to serve with blessing from above.

The table set with a festive flair
to show off all there is to share.
Turkey is carved with greatest skill
for all to eat at their will.

As we share this day each year
remember others who are not here.
Say a special prayer from your heart
for those who are far apart.

Keep them safe and free from harm
give them food and keep them warm
And as across the world they roam
Bless their families. God bring them safely home.
