Fruit Smoothie

1 small banana or half a large one
large handful of berries, sliced ripe peach, apricot or mango, chunk of papaya or other fruit in season
about 1/2 cup of fat-free or low-fat yogurt
a little skim milk
sweetener - your choice
few drops of fruit extract - either the same kind or a complementary one
powdered vitamin, protein or soy supplement
ice cubes

Place all ingredients except ice cubes in a very large glass or tumbler, or in a blender container.  Use a stick blender or regular blender to thoroughly liquefy and blend.  Add enough ice cubes to nearly fill the glass, leaving enough room for the blender, and process until ice in completely pulverized.  Add straw and enjoy.
