Classic Sugar Cookies with Egg Yolk Paint
A Tupperware recipe in Sneaky Kitchen

1 cups confectioner's sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
tsp. almond extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
Colored sprinkles, egg yolk paint (recipe follows)

Preheat oven to 375. Cream sugar & butter with mixer until fluffy. Add egg & flavorings, mix well. Sift dry ingredients together; stir into creamed mixture. Cover in a Tupperware bowl & refrigerate for 2 to 3 hrs.

Divide dough in half. Roll out on surface lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar. Cut with cookie cutters & place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 7 to 8 min. until cookies begin turning a light brown at edges. Cool; decorate with egg yolk paint.

1 egg yolk, beaten
tsp. water
Food coloring

Make 1 recipe of egg yolk paint for every 2 colors desired. Combine egg yolk & water; mix well. Divide into 2 custard or paper cups. Stir in food coloring. Keep tightly covered until used. If paint thickens, add a few drops of water. Paint as desired for a colored glaze & add colored sprinkles.
