Pastry Sheet from C. Keith

05/24/03

When going to your site looking for the price of a pastry sheet, all that shows is a Tupperware silicone baking sheet with measurements for pie dough. Do you have just a plain pastry sheet and if so what is the price, please?

Silicone Baking Sheet by Bess W.

We cannot post the prices of Tupperware items on our site.  The silicone baking mat has several superior qualities over the previous pastry sheet.  First, it is more non-stick.  Second, one can place pastries directly into the oven on the pastry sheet instead of trying to transfer them, and possibly deforming them.  Last, they help prevent burning and scorching.  You can use this sheet just like a pastry sheet, however.  Click on our Tupperware page and towards the bottom is a little picture of the sheet; click on it and it will give you the price.

Sticky Tupperware from M.S.

I am interested as to what to use when Tupperware gets :"sticky".
I have heard a vinegar solution, but don't know for sure. Please advise.

Never have this problem by Bess W.

At times a customer has placed a big order for Tupperware and turned in a gummy piece, and rather than argue with a good client, I just replaced it.  I then found that if I ran it through my dishwasher, it returned to it's previous condition, no matter how ancient it was.  (I have my dishwasher set for heated rinse and air only dry; not all dishwashers have this cycle.  If you decide to try it, put item on the top rack.)  Since I use my dishwasher for nearly everything, I guess this is why I never have sticky dishes.

I never heard of vinegar, but Cascade has a new product called "Plastic Booster" which is recommended by Tupperware.  This also claims to remove red (tomato and/or grease) stains and odors from Tupperware products.

Laundry Quick Tips from Tupperware Mgr Heidi Rosen

  • Keep a FreezeSmart Mini 1 on top of dryer for the small items (change, screws, etc.)

  • Keep an Oval 1 Modular Mate for the scoops & cup for the bleach (I just toss them in there)

  • Mount an adjustable shower curtain rod overhead (to fit the walls) to hang up things immediately that need it

  • Tupperware Bag Keeper on wall - it makes it easier to have a bag right there for the lint from the screen in the dryer and to throw away the used dryer sheets.

Where to get that round toy....?

I am looking for this toy my kids had back then.  It is a round cube and you put different shapes in it, it has a circle, etc.

Nobody should grow up without one by Bess W.

That's the famous Shape-O® Toy. It's fun and greatly educational for developing brains.  And yes, we know just where you can get it.  Click here.

Desperate for a colander from Jackie

I am looking for an old green, in color, colander.  I must have bought mine in the late 1970's and I have a daughter getting married who must HAVE it - and I really don't want to give mine up but I would love to surprise her with one at her shower.  Can you please help me?

We can help by Bess W.

It's not the same color but it's still a really great colander.  I use mine all the time.  View here and purchase at our Tupperware site.

How does Mom use the microsteamer from Ebony Gibson    http://www.plys.org/

I have a quick question. Is it possible for you to e-mail instructions on the proper use of the microsteamer?  My mom bought one from a consultant but they did not provide her with any instructions. She has been in contact with them but they have not yet sent any instructions. If you could possibly e-mail them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Easy Does It by Bess

You don't really need any instructions.  Micro-steamers are best used either for reheating, or for steam-cooking foods such as vegetables, even fruits, that need moist heat.   Just put water in the bottom, not too much, and put the food in the top.  Naturally you need to reheat only items without sauce because any liquid will drain away.  Also, if food is greasy, reheat very briefly to very warm, not piping hot, as the grease may stain the micro-steamer.

Experiment with timing - a great deal depends on the power range of your microwave plus the shape and quantity of the food.  Heat for 1 minute, test, perhaps stir, 1 minute more, etc.  Eventually your mom will be able to gauge how long a particular food takes.  For instance, a pretty good size bunch of broccoli, cut into florets and the peeled stems chopped, takes about 5 minutes, but if you want it tender crisp, maybe 4 minutes would be plenty.

Remember that if you remove it from the microwave and let it sit without opening, the food will continue to heat/cook for a little while, perhaps overdoing it.
