I have found a old Stanley level, 30 1/4 long, 3 1/4 wide, 1 3/8 ins thick. patented march 25,90. It has ADJUSTARLE written on the brass. Also has  STANLEY RULE&???? co.
pat.6-2-91, 6-23-96
New Britain, Conn. U.S.A.

brass ends, and brass glass holders with pat. dates on all the brass.
My question to you is this rare and does it have a value?

Sorry, but Stanley Home Products http://sneakykitchen.com/stanley  is not the Stanley Tool Company.   I had one just like that for years, and it "grew legs" and disappeared.  I have two newer Stanley ones now, one plastic, one longer aluminum that I also use as a straight-edge.

So much depends on age and condition.  I see several on Ebay and other antique tool sites that look like the one I had, in the $15 to $20 range.   If it's still level, just keep it and use it.   You can check the level by laying it on a surface, carefully checking where the bubble is, then flipping it end for end, and the bubble should still be in the same place.   The one I had actually had adjusting screws to re-calibrate the level.

If you wish to be sure, contact an appraiser, or do some research on the web.
