I made a pot of chili and to my dismay, made it to hot.  I can eat it, but my wife can't.  Is there any way to do tone down the bite on the chili?

There's only one way, I've been there.  Make another batch, no chili powder, and mix them.  Then freeze half.

Also, I've sometimes made it a tad too hot for me, not too much, and add a large dollop of low-fat sour cream to the bowl, and by taking a little sour cream with each bit it cuts the heat amazingly!

By the way, if you're going to freeze it, be aware that it often comes out hotter than before it was frozen.

Bess W.   Thanks, I have since heard that these particular things do indeed, work.  It's good to know for future chili screw ups!
