Anybody out there attended Robert E. Lee Jr High between 1967-1970? The school which I remembered was a beautiful 3 story building and was torn down about 7 or more years ago.

I was looking for people with stories or pic's of the school, I have many fond memories of my years there.

I went to Robert E. Lee Jr. High School sometime during the years of 1962 and 1966.  It sure was a beautiful school.  Some of my classes were right across the street from a bakery and I used smell the wonderful fragrance of baked bread.  This happened every afternoon!

I cannot believe that they tore that beautiful school down!  Some of my best memories happened there.  I am trying to remember the name of my favorite teacher.  (I think she taught gym.)  Will definitely check it out when I get home today.

I was @ Lee 1957 X 1960 it was a great School it's a shame they changed the name.

It would be nice if everyone on this sight and Class Mates could notify all our friends

that attended Lee, could get together at Crandon Park a bring your own lunch thing.

Let Me know what you think.

i am so happy to find this site. i also attended Lee. it was in the early 60s. i was just thinking about it the other day. my last year there they tore down the old homes on the other side of the athletic field and were beginning to build the north south expressway. i walked to lee from 29th st and 12 ave. i attended santa clara  school. i can recall the Friday night dances in the center courtyard. and i can recall that there was also a coffee factory across the street. when they roasted the coffee it sure did smell strong. i was unaware that the school had been torn down. i have not been back to Miami since 1979. our family moved from they in 1966. great school. i learned to love reading there. also the best teacher i ever had was mrs roper for history. i think the sign in the court yard said it all "tempus fugit"  time flies. i am now 60 years old. where did it go. i feel like it was only yesterday i was in class waiting for "retreat' to be played on the loud speaker.  Buford Bailey, Wytheville VA.
