Yes, I remember Exotic Gardens very well also, with its front facade almost covered in ivy. Some time before we lived at 1311 NW 40th, we lived around the corner on 20th street (I think), anyway, the railroad was about 10 feet from our back porch on 18th Ave. I went to the 1st grade at the elementary school behind Exotic gardens but I do not recall the school's name, which brings to mind the fact that I went to second grade at Gladeview Elementary on 27th Ave. and 54th Street ( all portable buildings with a covered walkway between them, so any way it must have been the third grade I started at Allapattah.
