What can I use to take sweetness out of a pot of chilli I made.   I ran out of tomato sauce and used paste instead now it's too sweet.   I don't want to not eat it, but right now, it's too sweet!

HELP:shock:

Over salting or sugaring, if done to unpleasantness, is almost impossible to fix -- NO MATTER what tales you have been told about adding potatoes, etc.

For chili ----- MAYBE adding more HEAT [your choice].  But remember, the more you cook it, the more it reduces, and the sweeter it will get ,.....

QUESTION:  How did chili paste make it sweet ?  Canned tom sauces usually have 'some' sugar [very minimal] BUT pastes usaully have none.
