I was thawing 2 frozen bone in slpit chicken breasts in a ziplock bag in cold water. After about 2 hours they were thawed, so I removed them from the water and noticed that some of the water had leaked into the bag w/ the chicken. My question is, are the breasts still safe to consume? thanks in advance

WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW THEM OUT

And thats a terrible way to thaw anything ,.... all items should go from freezer to 'fridge, and thaw over night.

To "quick-thaw" something small, like your chicken breasts, place in colander and under cold, RUNNING, tap-water ,.... check every 10 minutes, and cook immediately.

Poultry setting in water is a recipe for disaster ,.....

:dude:
