I have tried forwarding your newsletter before, but the imbedded links in the forwarded newsletter do not work. Obviously, without those the newsletter loses much of it's appeal since so much that is of interest is in the links. Do you know how it can be forwarded without losing the links?

Dear brother Lloyd:

I realize now that you mention it that it cannot be forwarded that way.  :?   New technology always has a way of rearing up and biting us on the backside.   That's the reason why many people forward me an email with imbedded images and links that they got from someone else, and most of it is missing.  Other times it is not.

Obviously either I have to find another version to forward, or find a new way to forward.  I'm still exploring possibilities as far as the newsletter is concerned, so I VERY much appreciate the feedback.   Life gets more complicated daily, doesn't it...

There are so many different e mail systems that there is just no way to know what will happen to an e mail when it gets to someone else.  Some systems strip all the links out of e mails.  And some people have their own e mail on their individual computer set to view plain text only, which will really make hash out of any html coded e mail sent to them.

The only safe way to send a e mail is in plain text, with a link to the page online that "has it all".  I am assuming that Bess has her newsletter available on line as well as the e mails sent out.

The plain text version of any newsletter should always contain one link, and that is to the on line version.

And all of this is the original reason I started a web site.  I found that the "incredibly clever" e mails I was sending and people were forwarding all over the world were in a lot of cases not coming through anyway near the way I designed them.

Then there is another problem of people using all kinds of different browsers, which can display even the web pages on line differently..........but that issue is for another day, another time and probably even another place.

Best to y'all!

Thanks, Ginny.   As you know, I use Netscape and there is so much I don't understand about IE Outlook as well as other systems and settings.  In fact, I use an old version of Netscape as I use it mainly for mail, and I like the older settings.  Suppose I'm a bit "stick in the mud" as far as that's concerned.

Readers, Ginny has a wealth of experience as well as creativeness, at her free greeting card site, http://happydaycards.com
