Where do the bugs go in winter?

Where do bugs and other pests go in cold, wet weather?  The same place you like to go - where it's warm, inside your home, if they can.  They like to winter over in the garage, basement or attic, in your walls and closets.  They can damage clothing stored for the summer.  Not only woolens are at risk - many bugs also enjoy a nibble of rayon, cotton or silk, among others.  They may not be as active, but that doesn't mean they're gone.
