Master Brownie Mix

Patricia Howell, a former consultant, says this is the best Brownie recipe she's ever tasted.  She's used the Master Brownie Mix recipe ever since she used to hold "Brownie Parties".  Store the mix in a Tupperware container.


Brownie  Mix

6 cups sifted flour
4 tsp
. baking powder
4 tsp
8 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups cocoa
2 cups shortening

Sift flour, baking powder & salt.  Mix sugar & cocoa together in separate bowl.  Mix all dry ingredients together.  Cut in shortening.  Store in an airtight Tupperware container.  If storing for a long time, refrigeration or freezing is suggested.


2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups brownie mix
2/3 cup nut
s (optional)

Preheat oven to 350║.

In small bowl combine all ingredients.  Batter will not be smooth.  Bake in a greased 8 X 8 pan for 20-25 minutes.  Cool slightly and cut into squares while still warm.
