Sauté of Spiced Pears & Almonds

4 firm Bosc (or Bartlett) pears
2 Tbsp/30 mL lemon juice
1 tsp/5 mL Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
1/4 cup/60 mL orange juice
1 Tbsp/15 mL maple syrup
1/2 tsp/2.5 mL Watkins Orange Peel
1/2 tsp/2.5 mL Watkins Vanilla
1/4 tsp/1.2 mL Watkins Cinnamon
1.4 tsp/1.2 mL Watkins Ground Cloves
2 Tbsp/30 mL toasted sliced almonds

Reconstitute orange peel according to directions on label.  Peel and core the pears; cut lengthwise into thin slices.  Place in a bowl and immediately toss with the lemon juice.

In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, saute the pears in the oil for 2 minutes.  Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until just tender.  Remove with a slotted spoon and divide among 4 dessert dishes.

To the pan, add the orange juice, maple syrup, orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves.  Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until syrupy.  Spoon over the pears.  Sprinkle with the toasted almonds.
