Spiced Shrimp

   

 

3 quarts water
1/2 cup vinegar
1 lemon, halved
1 jumbo sweet yellow onion, halved
1/4 cup Watkins Pickling Spices
1 Tbsp Watkins Sea Salt
2 lbs. fresh tiger shrimp with shells on

Bring water, vinegar, lemon, onion, spices and salt to a boil in a large pot.  Boil 10 minutes, then add shrimp.  Boil shrimp 2 to 5 minutes, or until shells are pink and shrimp is done.  Serve hot ("peel and eat"  style) or chilled as an appetizer.  Serve with cocktail sauce or your favorite Hot Pepper Sauce.

Note:  to make a full meal, add cut-up potatoes 10 minutes or so earlier than the shrimp; add corn on the cob to boil with the shrimp.  You'll need to increase the water also.
