Simply Sweet Cinnamon Strawberry Shortcakes

    

2 C. all-purpose flour
1/4 C. sugar
1 Tbsp. Watkins Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. Watkins Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Watkins Orange Peel
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 C. butter
1/4 tsp. Watkins Vanilla Extract
1 1/4 C - 1 1/2 C. heavy cream
1/4C. walnuts, chopped
extra butter, sugar and cinnamon (optional)
whipped cream

Sweetened Strawberries
4 to 6 cups strawberries
1/4 C. sugar

Preheat oven to 400° F.  Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, orange peel, salt and butter.  Stir in vanilla, cream and walnuts.  Drop on baking sheet using a 1/4 C. measuring cup.  Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, if desired.  Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until brown. 

Hull and quarter strawberries; toss in a medium bowl with sugar.  Let stand at least 20 minutes.    Cool shortcakes and cover with sweetened strawberries and whipped  cream.
